Astorga - Day 26

They say, be careful about what you ask for. After I don't know how many days of rain and cloud and cold we lucked out with a hot and sunny day! I loved it but it was hot for walking. We set out at 8:00 a.m. and Barb opted for her summer look right out of the gate!

I have just now posted 2 catch up blogs, since it is our first day of internet so I will be brief with the posts for yesterday and today's posts for Days 26 and 27.

The walk to Astorga from La Benaza was hot and tiring, but very pretty. Almost the entire route was on country lanes and paths with beautiful countryside. Only a couple of villages, one near the beginning and one near the end.

We three picnicked by the river for lunch and listened to the cacophony of frogs.

The walk into the city of Astorga was the prettiest city entrance we have had yet.

We met a Peregrino from Stratford, ON, Canada. Maggie had found the most wonderful hotel - a private home really, and we were treated to a tour before we all enjoyed dinner.
