Villafranca del Bierzo - Day 30

Today we walked across the valley from Molinaseca to Villafranca del Bierzo a distance of over 30 k. There were hardly any clouds so the sun made it quote hot. We took our time and stopped for a break every couple of hours.

This was a great rest stop where we lingered for 45 minutes.

We passed a garden full of statues.

We arrived at out destination by about 4:30. We wandered around town looking for a place to stay and eventually found a nice Albergue. For only 8 € we got a private room for 3. The Albergue had a kitchen and a common room and wifi! I enjoy the ambiance of the Albergues with lots of Peregrinos from everywhere to talk to.

After showering and sending our laundry to be done (5€!) we went in search of a drink and something to eat. We found a great place by the river.

The area is known for its wine and we enjoyed the bottle which was served with the bocadillos we had.

My feet are very happy because tomorrow is going to be a fairly easy day, only 17 k and flat!

Hasta luego amigos!

  2. Thanks for leaving a comment Ronald, it is nice to be able to share my trp - virtually! Glad to hear you are enjoying the pictures.

I am always the laggard in the group, stopping to take so many pictures. I post only a small selection of the many I have and choosing which ones to post is hard.

I am also finding it difficult to find enough time for writing the narrative. I wish I had time to write more but I decided to focus first in providing visuals and as time permits provide commentary. So my posts must be brief with comments and (sadly) in haste autocorrect often messed up sentences.

All in all though, I am really enjoying doing my daily blogs so it is nice to hear that a few folks are popping by to visit regularly!
